California newspapers are available in all the major cities as well as many of the smaller communities. Large cities in California ( and there are many) have numerous California newspapers including some daily, some weekly, major metro, alternative, campus, business and most of them available online. Although there are well over 120 California newspapers, some of the most popular California newspapers include the Los Angeles Times, San Diego Union-Tribune, and Investor's Business Daily.
Los Angeles Times
The Los Angeles Times is one of the most popular California newspapers and is published daily in the Los Angeles area. It's also distributed all over Western United States. In the category of distribution of U.S. metropolitan newspapers, the Los Angeles Times is the second largest as well as being fourth largest in overall distribution in the United States. They also offer a 24-hour newspaper online.
Since its beginning it 1881, the Los Angeles Times has been the winner of over 35 Pulitzer Prizes in different categories. In 2004, it won five prizes, evidence of its ever increasing popularity. San Diego Union-Tribune
San Diego Union-Tribune is another of the California newspapers that's published daily. It's published in San Diego and is currently the second oldest California newspaper as well as San Diego's oldest business as a result of The San Diego Union and Evening Tribune merger in 1992. San Diego Union-Tribune is the winner of several Pulitzer Prizes for its excellent journalism. Investor's Business Daily
Investor's Business Daily is a national newspaper that's been around since 1984 and is published in Los Angeles. Founded by William O'Neil, it's published Monday through Friday and offers excellently detailed information on mutual funds, stocks, bonds and other financial commodities and instruments. Investor's Business Daily was started as a way to help investors by offering them news and articles that are not in the Wall Street Journal. Of special interest to many readers are the Editorials and Opinions sections as well as the America and Internet & Technology section that gives emphasis on companies of specific interest to the public.
